Catering Terms of Service

  1. Last-Minute Orders: We accept last-minute orders! Contact Chef Abod directly at 902-448-4473.

  2. Corporate Accounts: A new corporate account can be set up by calling one of our friendly staff members.902-445-3881

  3. Dietary Accommodations: Our chefs can accommodate all dietary restrictions.

Cancellation Policy Notice 🚫

  • For orders over $1,000:

    • 36 hours' notice is required to apply a 50% charge.

    • 24 hours' notice or less will result in the full charge being applied.

  1. Deposits and Payments for Large Events: For large events (weddings or corporate orders over $3,000), a $1,000 deposit is due upon booking confirmation. Payment of 50% (including the deposit) is required 30 days before the event, and the remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the event. The deposit will be forfeited for any cancellation within 30 days of the event, and the 50% deposit will be forfeited for cancellations within 15 days of the event.

  2. Order Changes: Any changes within 24 hours must be communicated directly to a Chef Abod staff member in person or by phone at 902-448-4473 or 902-455-3881. We do not accept changes or cancellations through voicemail, email, fax, etc.

  3. Service Fees and Taxes:

    • Orders under $1,000 are subject to a 15% service fee plus 15% HST.

    • Orders over $1,000 are subject to an 18% service fee plus 15% HST.

    • Wedding catering is subject to a 20% service fee plus 15% HST.

    • Weekend orders are subject to an 18% service fee plus 15% HST.

  4. Price Adjustments: Due to fluctuations in food prices, all prices are subject to change.

  5. Delivery Charges:

    • Halifax deliveries start from $25.

    • Dartmouth deliveries start from $30

  6. High-Demand Times: During peak times (such as noon), orders may be delivered 15-30 minutes early. We appreciate your understanding.

  7. Payment: Payment is expected at or before delivery. We accept cash, check, credit card, direct deposit, or email transfer.

  8. Guaranteed Attendance: A guaranteed attendance count is required 48 hours prior to delivery. If actual attendance falls below this number, the client will be charged for the guaranteed count.

  9. Additional Costs: Additional costs will apply if cutlery, equipment, or staff are required.
